Within the 80 questions, there will be 5 case studies each comprising 3 questions. These case studies are mainly focusing on the practical approach on Know Your Client (KYC), money laundering issues and the topics of Wills, Trusts, Foundations and the use of Insurance for wealth preservation and wealth transfer.

Within the 100 questions, there will be 12 case studies each comprising 3 questions. Many of the case studies are lengthy and complex. Time management is most crucial in this paper; many candidates are unable to finish all questions because of poor time management.

There will be a minimum of 10 to 15 calculation questions in the exam, and use of a scientific calculator is highly recommended. Formula sheets will be provided in the examination. These formulas can be found in the IBF study guide from page 268 to page 274.
