CMFAS Exam Tips

Module 1A is for individual joining Member Company of the SGX-ST as a dealer or remisier.
Important to know:

A “Stock- Broking Company” is the same as a “Capital-Market-Services License Holder” as well as a “Trading Member” (TM). A dealer or  a remisier is also known as a “Trading Representative” (TR).

Chapter 2, 3 and 4 – about 70% weightage of the exam

These 3 chapters are all about licensing requirement, business operation and trading practices of TM and TR, the trading system, dealing mechanics and settlement procedures of SGX-ST and the regulations prohibiting market misconduct of the Securities and Futures Act.

Chapter 5 –

• CPF Investment Schemes
• Exam weightage is about 10%

Chapter 6 -

• ES contracts were designated as dormant contracts by the SGX-ST on the 1st April 2015
• Exam weightage is about 5 to 10%

Chapter 7 -

• Financial Crimes: Money Laundering, Terrorism Financing, Embargoes & Sanctions and Fraud.
• Exam weightage is about 5 to 10%

There will be about 20 situation/scenario questions on topics concerning Insider trading / Prevention of money laundering and other market misconducts.
